Coach Artur Westergren is the founder and Director of Momentum Tennis, a Northern California junior tennis program built on the belief that exceptional player development begins with strong fundamentals, a positive learning environment, and a passion for competition. With over 17 years of coaching experience, Coach Artur has helped hundreds of junior players develop their skills, confidence, and love for the game while guiding teams and athletes to consistent competitive success.
As a junior player, Artur competed at the highest levels of Northern California tennis in the Boys' 18s division. His competitive playing background provides firsthand insight into the dedication, discipline, and mindset required to succeed in junior tennis and beyond.
Coach Artur is a USTA High Performance Certified Coach, bringing advanced training methodologies and proven player development systems to every lesson, clinic, and team practice. His coaching philosophy emphasizes technical excellence, tactical awareness, athletic development, sportsmanship, and building confidence both on and off the court.
Under Coach Artur's leadership, Momentum Tennis has grown into one of Northern California's most successful junior programs. Between Fall 2022 and Spring 2026, Momentum Tennis fielded 39 USTA Junior Team Tennis squads, compiling a 155–68 dual-match record, capturing 12 league championships, and earning 29 top-three league finishes across the 10U, 12U, 14U, and 18U divisions. These accomplishments reflect the program's commitment to creating a winning culture while prioritizing long-term player development.
Whether coaching beginners taking their first swing or advanced tournament competitors pursuing collegiate tennis, Coach Artur is dedicated to helping every player reach their full potential. His goal is to develop not only stronger tennis players, but confident, resilient young people who carry the lessons learned on the court into every aspect of life.

Coach Vishal is an enthusiastic and experienced tennis coach with a rich background in both playing and teaching the sport. His journey began at the young age of 6 in Cupertino, where he quickly made a name for himself as a competitive player, achieving significant victories like being the 2002 Seascape Monterey Bay Junior Challenger Boys 16s Singles Champion. He continued to excel in high school, earning recognition as a two-time MVP of his varsity team and taking on the #1 singles position by his sophomore year.
In addition to his playing accomplishments, Coach Vishal gained valuable experience running tennis programs at various local centers during his summers. After a decade-long career in tech and music, he returned to tennis post-pandemic, taking on roles such as lead instructor at Lifetime Tennis, where he developed players of all ages and skill levels.
At Momentum Tennis, he currently oversees junior and adult training programs while also coaching the Boys and Girls Varsity teams at his former high school, Pinewood High School. Coach Vishal continues to compete at a high level in USTA and UTR tournaments.
Outside of tennis, he enjoys soccer (go Milan!), basketball (go Warriors!), traveling, live music, and spending quality time with friends and family. Coach Vishal is eager to help both beginners and experienced players enhance their skills and looks forward to meeting prospective players on the court!

Coach Tom bings over a decade of experience as a tennis pro. He is dedicated to developing players of all ages and skill levels. Starting their journey on the courts at a young age, they quickly became a competitive player, earning titles and accolades in junior tournaments. Transitioning into coaching, Coach Tom has successfully led numerous programs, focusing on technique, strategy, and a love for the game.
Passionate about fostering both skill and sportsmanship, they have coached at various clubs and schools, including leading varsity teams to success. In addition to their coaching role, Coach Tom is also an active competitor, continually honing their own skills at local tournaments.
When he's not coaching, Tom enjoys staying active by competing in local leagues and tournaments, showcasing his passion for the game. He also loves exploring the outdoors, traveling, and spending time with his friends and family. With an unwavering commitment to excellence, Tom Anderson is excited to share his knowledge and enthusiasm for tennis, helping players achieve their goals and foster a lifelong love for the sport.

Coach Surya has been passionately involved in tennis for over a decade, honing his skills and deepening his love for the sport. His journey gained traction when he joined the middle school tennis team, where he played until the COVID-19 pandemic. Surya continued to excel during his high school years, playing for three years and earning the distinction of Team Captain through his leadership and dedication. In addition to his competitive experience, Surya has accumulated around 200 hours of coaching at Momentum Tennis, where he has shared his expertise with aspiring players. Demonstrating both commitment and discipline, Surya biked to each coaching session, underscoring his dedication to the sport and the players he mentors.

Coach Zach's passion for tennis was ignited early on, inspired by playing with his father. He joined his school's Junior High team, laying the foundation for his competitive journey. Having made the Varsity team tennis as a Freshman in High School, Zach continued to hone his skills. Zach consistently strives to improve his game, attending clinics, taking private lessons, and participating in year-round JTT and other tournaments. His dedication was further recognized when he was selected as one of only six players to represent his school at the CCS Semifinals.
Last summer, Zach expanded his involvement in the sport by coaching at Momentum Tennis. He actively contributed to the success of their summer camps, teaching youth of all ages.

Matthew is a dedicated and accomplished tennis player currently competing on the varsity team at Los Altos High School. He first picked up a racket at the age of nine and quickly developed a passion for the sport, leading him to start competing in tournaments by age 11. Over the course of more than 250 USTA matches, he has built an impressive track record, earning titles such as Regional Semifinalist (1x), Sectional Champion (2x), and Local Champion (8x). Always striving for excellence, he hones his skills through rigorous training both locally and internationally, including an intensive program at the JC Ferrero Equelite Academy in Spain during the summer of 2023.
Beyond his personal achievements, Matthew is a dedicated coach with three years of experience teaching players of all ages and skill levels. He has worked extensively in summer camps, private lessons, and a special-needs program, demonstrating his ability to adapt his coaching style to different learning needs. Passionate about player development, he emphasizes technical precision, strategic awareness, and strong footwork to help his students elevate their game. His enthusiasm for coaching stems from a deep understanding of the sport and a genuine desire to inspire the next generation of tennis players.
